The TRI-SORT Task Force originated
in June of 2005 and is the first task force of it's kind in the State of Michigan.
The task force consists of state,
county, & local police officers, parole & probation officers, prosecutors, & members of the Michigan State Police
Sex Offender Unit.
OPERATION VERIFY, is a sex offender violator sweep operation that was originated in 2002 at
the Michigan State Police Lansing Post. OPERATION VERIFY has since developed into a statewide proactive operation. Over 150
different police agencies participate in OPERATION VERIFY annually.
